 Staying up to dat with the latest news is very important to everyday life. All across the world we depend on several news sources and outlets to produce the most reliable information for mass consumption. News sources today are at the tip of out fingers, sitting down and watching the news or reading the paper quite frankly is no longer necessary. News can now be found on television, physical paper, websites, apps and social media platforms. I have found my self to rely on news apps and social media platforms to stay up to date on "whats hot and whats not." 

Apple News, Every-time I open my phone there is a notification fo something big happing in local and national news. I rely on these notifications to stay up to date as an overly busy college student. Not only does this app publicize current events but Apple news gives you access to magazines, news paper articles and audio stories. The content publicized is triple checked by editors to make sure you are getting the most updated pieces to each news article or segment. I recommend this app to not only college students who are constantly on the go like myself but those who just need a mental break from all of the social media updates that are are based on publicity. 

The Shade room is exactly what it sounds like, a hub for all of the latest celebrity news, gossip and tends. The social media platform is one of the newly established  sources of news. In 2014 creative director Angelica Nwandu wanted to give social media gurus like me a place to stay up to date with everything thats hot! Who wouldn't want all of the latest celebrity news at their fingertips? At the start of this social media page, it received very negative backlash and was seen as the page to find public embarrassment. I find myself visiting the shade rooms page everyday not by choice but simply because the creatives behind the social media page and website always have the current scoop and are constantly posting. Ever so often there is informative news, politics and daily crime updates.

We all know CNN, twenty four hour based news network that me and people all around the world depend on. CNN provides viewers on their app, television station and their website. 24/7 updates on all the latest new by well renowned journalist. The news outlet provides you with clear insight on breaking news, international news and an easy accessible way to stay up to date with whats happening in the world. These news stories and publications never go away, which also gives students like myself a prime out let for research articles.

ESPN a platform for all sports lovers to get the latest news on their favorite teams, scores/statistics, predictions and injury updates. ESPN originally was a television channel where you could find all things sports, today we can get sports updates on their app, Instagram, Twitter, Youtube live and Tik Tok. I use the ESPN app daily to consume all of the scores and updates from the pervious day of games and matches. 

I also find myself using this app everyday like so many others to rewatch game clips, tune into live games on the go or simply keeping up with live stats. Regardless of if you are in the app or not their are constant notifications. I enjoy being able to to see Big South sports along with other Mid-Major Division one schools on ESPN+ which is found within the ESPN app.

ESPN+ gives viewers live coverage of games that you otherwise wouldn't be able to see on television which makes for a better platform for under-watched teams and programs.
